Community Games Summer 2016

CG Flyer Aug 16Epic's 2 week programme of Community Games starts on August 1st! There'll be so much for the children to do, including the usual sports, recreational games and swimming. We've also invited a circus performer along to add to the excitement, and, as an extra treat, there'll be an ice skating trip for the best behaved children. We've packed so much into the programme that the kids will be exhausted at the end of it!

The St. Ann's and Arboretum Family Mentoring Service is up and running!

Family Mentor Info DaysThe St. Ann's and Arboretum Family Mentor Service has gone live!  SSBC (Small Steps Big Changes) have been awarded a 10-year contract to support mums of children during their first 4 years of life, providing information, guidance and mentoring. SSBC will work in Partnership with Framework Housing Association with support from St Ann's Advice Centre and Epic Partners.

Family Mentors will be recruited locally to work alongside health visiting, midwifery and early years services to deliver activities focused on nutrition, language skills and the social emotional development of babies.  They will work directly with the parents and families. Check out the SSBC website for more information about the programme.

Epic will support with the Family Mentors' recruitment, induction, training and familiarisation of services already in the area, help to raise awareness of the Family Mentor service to the community including hard to reach families, and provide feedback to ensure that the programme is tailored towards the needs of the local community.

The 12 new Family Mentor posts - a mix of full time and part time - will be created, and there will be Information Days held across the area next week. More information about Information Days and the jobs on offer can be found on the Framework website http://www.frameworkha.org/familymentor
